100 People Can Change A Community

The Mahomet Community Foundation is thrilled to announce the formation of our 100 People of Impact. This community-based philanthropic group is dedicated to making a significant difference in Mahomet and the surrounding area. This new initiative is open to all individuals who are willing to donate $200 to join and commit to contributing an additional $200 yearly.

The mission of 100 People of Impact, Mahomet is to bring together diverse members of the community to pool their resources and support local charities. By working together, members can amplify their impact, providing essential funding to organizations that make a difference in Mahomet.

How It Works:

  • Annual Gatherings: Members will gather once a year to nominate and select local charities that support the Mahomet community.
  • Charity Nominations: Any member can nominate a charity. Those charities will be vetted, and a predetermined number of nominated organizations will be chosen to present their cause at each meeting.
  • Voting and Donations: The group will vote to determine which charity will receive the donations. $100 of each member’s annual donation will be given to that charity.
  • Funding the Endowment: The other $100 given annually will go to the Mahomet Community Foundation endowment, which will be used to support projects that improve the lives of people living in Mahomet.

The goal of 100 People of Impact, Mahomet is to bring together 100+ members, aiming to collectively donate $20,000, including $10,000 to charities serving the Mahomet community. This funding will provide a substantial boost to local charities, enabling them to continue their vital work in the community.
