About the Foundation
Overview
The Mahomet Community Foundation came out of a need and an opportunity. As the Village was securing funds for the Splash Pad at Barber Park, we were presented with a donation that the Village could not accept, but a non-profit could. And the conversations about future improvements and filling needs within the community began. A centralized organization with active outreach efforts working hand in hand with the Village can see where the gaps in coverage are and match donors with needs in ways that a government organization cannot. So, the Mahomet Community Foundation was born. The goal for this foundation is to help secure support for community improvements that benefit and improve the quality of life for the people who live, work, and visit Mahomet. We also want to work hand in hand with other non-profit community organizations to identify needs and opportunities to work together, create connections, and be a one stop shop for donors, businesses, and organizations to come together to make Mahomet the best place to live, raise kids, own a business, and thrive.
